Where do moms hang out on social media? Facebook, of course
Facebook is the most popular social media platform among mothers, with 84% of those polled by Edison Research saying they use it consistently. This group is part of the 93% of mothers polled who said they used a social networking site or service, which is up from 88% a year ago.
Somewhat surprisingly, Pinterest has dipped a bit in popularity among moms. Only 47% said they used the platform in 2017, down from 51% last year. In the meantime, Snapchat is gaining significant traction - with 29% of those polled now using it, a big jump from 13% in 2016. Even Twitter has shown growth among mothers with 21% using it - an increase from 15% the previous year. One interesting tidbit from their study? More than half (55%) of moms with Internet access at home said they access the Internet most using their cell phone.
What is the key takeaway? If you're trying to reach moms, social media is where you'll find them. Moms in the US now spend more time on the internet than with either television or radio: 3 hours 31 minutes of usage per day. And they are using their mobile phones more than ever.
