New Twitter Service Targets TV Viewers For Brands

you’re part of a growing population of folks who like to share the viewing experience with like-minded tweeters, and Twitter will soon be targeting you with new ads in your stream.

The company announced this week a new product and service that is designed to help companies target ads to viewers. Twitter had earlier announced a similar partnership with Ford which will target football viewers with tweets that include replays with ads.

We agree with the Forrester analyst who says that this is an area where Twitter will have to be careful. If too many ads start popping up in our streams while tweeting about a TV show or game, it will diminish the experience and may turn some away from it. We’ll see how it plays out.
