Foursquare Ads adds "self-serve" option to small businesses to promote local search

Foursquare announced a new “self-serve” advertising option for local businesses. The idea is to allow local businesses (say a French restaurant shown
in the example) to appear at the top of a search performed by a local user within Foursquare. Seems like a reasonable idea but we’re not sure how many people actually use the search function within Foursquare to find local options.
